Restaurant Manager

We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager who has a real passion for delivering the highest levels of service and creating a fantastic dining experience for our guests.

Paris House, owned and run by Head Chef Phil Fanning & his wife Claire, is an award winning, 3 AA Rosette, Michelin recommended restaurant set in 22 acres of deer park on the Woburn Estate in Bedfordshire. Modern British tasting menus take guests on a memorable culinary journey with food inspired by natural flavour combinations and seasonality. The wine program is driven by a passion for fine wine and exciting food pairings. The front of house team deliver a highly professional level of service with knowledge, warmth and hospitality at the core.

We expect you to support and develop the team, taking pride in passing on knowledge and sharing creative ideas about improving the customer experience. Internally facing, you’ll be responsible for cost management and smooth day-to-day operations.

As Restaurant Manager you will be expected to:

  • Work effectively with the Management Team to ensure the operation runs smoothly and all revenue opportunities are maximised
  • Ensure all guests receive the highest levels of service from all members of the team
  • Effective management of the floor ensuring the team are fully trained in all aspects of the restaurant and each service runs smoothly
  • Lead the team by example; adopting a hands-on, can do, nothing-is-too-much approach
  • Ensure any guest complaints are handled effectively and professionally and all guests leave with a positive dining experience
  • Effectively manage the Reservations & Front of House teams ensuring the team are fully trained and follow all policies and procedures
  • Effectively manage payroll and P&L cost lines
  • Proactively work and support the Management Team to grow the business

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous management experience within a quality, fast-paced restaurant environment; some Michelin experience is desirable
  • Have a passion for high quality food and delivering the highest levels of service
  • Be a clear and concise communicator
  • Have the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Have awareness of how to manage costs and increase revenue
  • Have the ability to motivate a team and create a strong teamwork ethic

Working hours:
Wednesday – closed for service: our development day. Work with the team on our research and development agendas, including training, mentoring, skills development and enhancing menu knowledge
Thursday to Saturday – lunch, afternoon tea and dinner service
Sunday – lunch & afternoon tea service
Sunday & Wednesday evenings and all day on Mondays and Tuesdays are your own.

Location
Due to our beautiful rural location in Woburn, Bedfordshire, you will need your own transport. Public transport is not an option. Please do not apply if you do not have a current driving license with use of a vehicle. No staff accommodation available.

Chef De Partie / Experienced Chef

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £20,000 – £25,000/year

You will be expected to run a section taking responsibility for the effective execution of all dishes, ensuring consistent presentation and customer happiness. We expect a Chef de Partie to be able to develop the more junior members of the team, taking pride in passing on knowledge and sharing creative ideas. Ideally, we are looking for you to have the following skills and experience:

  • A real passion for food with a desire to learn new skills
  • Keen to progress your career in a high quality restaurant environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • We offer a competitive starting salary of up to £23,000 per annum depending on experience. You would work Wednesday through to Saturday for lunch and dinner, and then lunch only on Sundays.

Chef De Rang / Experienced Waiter or Waitress

Kitchen Assistant

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £8.21 - £9.00 per hour
  • Hours: 4.5 days per week out of 7, including evenings and weekend

We are looking for a passionate, hard working & happy kitchen assistant to join a highly motivated team. The duties include washing and polishing plates, pots and pans, general food preparation under Chef’s assistance. We are based just outside Woburn, in the Abbey’s deer park, so a form of transport would be necessary. All meals are provided on shift for lunch / dinner.
