We are delighted to invite you to spend the evening of Thursday 2nd April at Paris House with Corrado Maurigi, from European Winery of the Year, Tasca d’Almerita for a Winemaker’s Dinner.
Corrado will present an entire evening of Tasca wines perfectly paired with a bespoke 5-course menu from Phil Fanning. Along with our own sommelier, Howie Sayers, Corrado will share one of the most accomplished and complete ranges of Sicilian wines you will find from their five different wine estates, ranging from traditional varieties to more intriguing international blends, all sourced from their own estates covering several different parts of the island.
Executive Chef Phil Fanning will be on hand to introduce each dish and Corrado & Howie will provide unique insight into the wine pairings. They’ll talk about upcoming wine trends and you will have the opportunity to pick their brains and to purchase Tasca d’Almerita wines at discounted prices.

Tasca are quite rightly considered as Sicilian wine aristocracy / royalty. They have been in the hands of the Tasca family since 1830, on the Regaleali estate based high in the central Sicilian hills surrounded by wild fennel, rosemary & thyme. Ever since, the property has been run according to the best agricultural principles, with one eye firmly on quality and the other on experimentation. They were the first to produce a single vineyard “cru” wine in Sicily, and are now at the forefront of environmental and sustainable wine production in Italy, in fact helping to found SOStain, an innovative programme to help wineries practice sustainable and environmentally policies within viticulture.
They produce one of the most accomplished and complete range of Sicilian wines you will find from their five different wine estates, ranging from traditional varieties to more intriguing international blends, all sourced from their own estates covering several different parts of the island.
In addition they run four different properties which offer villas & hospitality, wine tastings, a cookery school and the stunning Capofaro lighthouse hotel nestled amongst the Malvasia vines on the island of Salina, (which was recently awarded the Relais & Chateaux 2020 Sustainability Trophy), a recognition of the impressive work undertaken by the Tasca d’Almerita family towards sustainable tourism and its sincere dedication towards reducing environmental impact, involving the local community to stimulate awareness and protecting natural resources and the sea.
So why not come along, be transported away to the stunning island of Sicily for an evening, and experience the flavours and quality that led to the prestigious Wine Enthusiast Magazine awarding them the title of European Winery Of The Year 2019, in fact the first Sicilian winery to be given this award.
